The holidays are some of the best or worst times of the year for people, depending on the conditions. Some get excited during this time, and some get sad or upset that they may have to buy people presents. Today, I am going to be ranking the iconic holidays of the fall/winter because why not? The holidays I am going to rank include the following: New Year’s, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve.

The worst holiday on the list in my opinion is the most boring holiday of them all; Halloweeeeeeeeennnnnnn!!! As we are approaching Halloween, we need to admit that it is lowkey boring when you grow up, thanks to the courtesy of old people giving people a look for having fun during the holiday by dressing up. Even though I see this holiday as pretty boring I cannot say I don’t admire the few creative costumes.

New Year’s, also known as the day of false promises, is a two-day holiday, but to make it simple we are going to put them together. During this time of the new year, we hear many people say “I am going to lose so much weight this year and I’m going to eat healthily” or, “I am going to try to be better at doing my work on time”. However these usually never happen. I believe this holiday isn’t too bad, but it still doesn’t make the top 3.

Thanksgiving is the day of giving thanks and eating a lot of food that you usually don’t eat. This day is very fun for me since I get to see a lot of my family. My family usually gathers together and eats food while talking about life. The food is usually the same with 2-3 dishes changing each year. For many people, including me, there is a lot to be thankful for and Thanksgiving is a day to think about it.

Christmas Eve is a day of the false hope, of Santa, the make-believe creature. Even though I found out Santa wasn’t real, it didn’t take away the magic of Christmas Eve. There is no greater feeling than drinking hot cocoa on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Christmas like New Year and Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on your life and to celebrate with family.

The best holiday out of all of them is Christmas Day, since you get time to rest in time for New Year’s. During Christmas day, I find out where to put my gifts in my room and I usually see my little brother playing with his gift. Christmas day is also very magical since you get the chance to spend more time with your family. Out of all the wintertime holidays, I believe Christmas Day is the most magical.
