It has been a longstanding tradition at Enochs to nominate and uplift our involved and dedicated students through our Homecoming royalty celebration. This celebration will take place at the halftime of the Homecoming basketball game on Friday (1/24/2025).
We already know the winners of the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior prince and princesses. Our freshman prince is Eli Tran and our Princess is Catalina Barnett. Our Sophomore Prince is Connor Kroese Berlanga with our princess Melanie Martinez. These students are starting their highschool years strong by getting involved in sports and clubs and participating in Enochs culture and setting a strong example for their peers.
The Junior Prince, Logan Malough has been a very involved student-athlete playing football and throwing for track and field, while also being a prominent supporter and member of the Women in Gold club on campus. The Junior Princess Karina Gomez, is also a model student at Enochs, she is a part of our Forensic Biotech Academy, and is on both the cheer and dance teams. Both of these juniors are very impressive, as they are able to balance academics and extracurriculars throughout their three years at Enochs.
Now we will get into our King and Queen candidates.
For our king candidates, we have Ansel Mello (golden toe), the kicker of our football team and track athlete, a prominent member of our SSD pathway and the sports editor for our school newspaper and journalism class. Kevin Verde, a member of the Forensic Biotech Academy and basketball player at Enochs. Cross Yost, a member of the Black Student Union, the basketball team manager, who always puts a smile on the face of the people around him.
“I am looking forward to the homecoming game because I really want to win Homecoming king this year, and feel I like I actually have a good chance!” said Mello in an email. “I hope that me and Kaytlynn can hopefully win together too, so we can be that cute high school cliche couple. I hope that Enochs finally wins the Homecoming game for the first time in like 5 years, and we can all celebrate together, and have a great time in the entourage.”
Our queen candidates are Lyric Lubin, the Black Student Union President, cheerleader, and director of the student and staff connections committee in leadership. Kaytlynn Nice, a member of the SSD pathway at Enochs, varsity soccer captain, track athlete, and sports recognition director in leadership. Finally we have Abigail Ramillo, a very involved student, member of our yearbook team, and is a swimmer for Enochs.
Kaytlynn Nice expresses her excitement for her nomination in an email, “I am super excited and grateful to be nominated for Homecoming Queen! It makes it even more sweet that I am able to be a part of this with my boyfriend, Ansel, as well as some of my close friends Abby, Melanie, and Lyric!” says Nice. “I am also looking forward to the basketball game since as seniors, this will be our last homecoming game ever! It will definitely be a bittersweet night but one to remember!”
All of these candidates are very involved, outstanding students that are a great representation of what it means to be an Enochs student. Good luck to all of our King and Queen Candidates, and congratulations to all of our Prince and Princess winners. Please come support all of our candidates, cheerleaders, and basketball team at the Homecoming game this Friday!
