About the Contributors

Mateo Lepe, Sports Podcast Manager
Mateo Lepe, a member of the Enochs Class Of 2025, is trying to show people why sports is his passion. He is the number one golfer in the school and has been a starter on varsity for all 4 years. He has played soccer for 10 years consecutively growing up and even played travel ball for 1-2 years with MYSA. Basketball is also another area of his expertise. He often watches his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors, and the playoffs. He is very knowledgeable in that sense as well. His main strength of Sports Journalism is the NFL; he can personally guarantee that no one knows more about football than him. He watches every game he can, he is in three fantasy leagues, and has made over $1000 in football gambling alone. Finally, he loves to debate with others (respectively) which makes for interesting podcast episodes. He would love to be the Sports Podcast Manager who decides the subjects we will talk about, the graphics for each of the segments, and which special guests to bring from our teams here at Enochs. He wants to bring people to the Enochs Eagle Eye from everywhere! GO NINERS!!!!
What Mateo loves about Journalism: “Opinions are fascinating whether we agree or not.”
What Mateo loves about Enochs: “Football and Basketball games.”

Ansel Mello, Arts & Life Editor
Ansel Paul Mello II, a member of the Class Of 2025, is a dynamic AP-level writer/public speaker. He reportedly is not only a host of the Enochs video announcements, but also the editor of all Pop Culture articles, a member of the Enochs sports podcast, and will be a writer for a multitude of different subjects throughout the year. When not in the classroom, you can find Ansel kicking field goals for the Enochs Football team, speeding by the finish line on the track team, or doing research for our very own Pre-Med Alliance club. With the broad skill set obtained from these activities, Ansel hopes to one day be a news anchor for a local television station, or possibly an on-the-scenes reporter for urgent stories around the globe.
What Ansel loves about journalism: “It’s just so interesting you know? I love informing people about events whether local or national, but in a fun, encapsulating way that they aren’t used to in the real news.”
What Ansel loves about Enochs High School: “Oh gosh that’s a loaded question, I’d have to say the people though. Any school can have what we have in terms of materials, but like from the teachers to the kids, no school has more spirit, drive, kindness, and overall a sense of community like we have here at enochs. You think at Mohi they got 200 kids in their student section even with a terrible football team? I don’t think so.”
